The Baltimore Orioles have added Mark Trumbo in a trade with the Seattle Mariners.

In exchange for shipping Trumbo to the charm city, the Seattle Mariners acquired catcher Steve Clevenger.

Once a star o the Los Angeles Angles, Trumbo has been a disappointment for the past two seasons spending time with the Mariners and the Arizona Diamondbacks before. Splitting time between both teams last season Trumbo hit a combined .262/.310/.449 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI.

The Orioles are taking a risk that they can catch lighting in a bottle with Trumbo hoping to see some of the form which resulted in him hitting .251/.300/.473 with 95 home runs and 282 RBI from 2011-2013 with the Los Angeles Angels.

Acquiring Trumbo from the Mariners may be a sign that the Orioles plan to part with star first baseman Chris Davis who hit 47 home runs a season ago but is the biggest fish on the free agent market.

The Mariners get a backup catcher in Clevenger who may end up seeing more playing time should Chris Iannetta, another catcher acquired in a trade, fail to produce.
