The Detroit Tigers will wait another day but it appears that right hander Justin Verlander is headed to the disabled list.

Verlander did not feel good as he finished a 40-pitch bullpen session on Sunday said manager Brad Ausmus. He was to face live hitters on Tuesday but that was pushed aside with general manager Dave Dombroswski saying the former Cy Young winner is headed to the disabled list on Wednesday.

Kyle Lobstein is likely to fill in for Verlander for Sunday’s start.

Verlander, 32, is cming off a down season in which he was 15-12 with a 4.54 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP across 206 innings of work.
