Jeff Samardzija has yet to throw a pitch for the White Sox but would be open to signing an extension with the team.

Samardzija will become a free agent at the end of the season and reportedly will see “how it is” with the White Sox before making a decision on whether or not he will hit free agency. Previously the right hander had suggested that he preferred to hit free agency and test the market.

Whether or not the White Sox will be able to lock up Samardzija remains to be seen. The White Sox at-least have the fact that Samardzija grew up in Merrillville, Indiana and his connection to Notre Dame going for them.

Andruw Jones seeks return to MLB

Outfielder Andruw Jones seeks to return to the major leagues in 2015.

Jones has spent the last two seasons playing in Japan hitting 50 home runs over the span but posting just .243 and .221 batting averages.

If Jones wants to return he will have to do so on a minor league deal and surely will be nothing more than a platoon player.
