The Rays have signed reliever Ronald Belisario to a minor league deal.
Belisario was set to sign with the Blue Jays a few days ago but that deal fell apart. Had he made the roster of the Blue Jays out of Spring Training he would have been guaranteed $1.7 million. Details of his contract with the Rays has yet to filter out.
A season ago he struggled as a reliever for the White Sox finishing with a 5.56 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP in 66 1/3 innings of work. The 32-year-old stands a decent chance of making the Rays roster out of Spring Training.
