Angels open to contract extensions with Chris Iannetta and Huston Street

The Angels have not ruled out signing catcher Chris Iannetta or closer Huston Street to extensions.

If the Angels work out deals for either it may not happen until after Opening Day reports MLB’s Alden Gonzalez.

Ianetta will earn $5.53 million in 2015 before hitting free agency. The now 31-year-old appeared in 108 games last season hitting .252/.373/.392 with seven home runs and 43 RBI.

According to Gonzalez the Angels and Street have already talked to one another about a new deal but things have not progressed much. The Angels and Street will be in better position to talk once Spring Training starts.

Street will earn $7 million in 2015 but reportedly want him to stick around after setting a career high 41 saves in 2014. Street has been as good as anyone in recent seasons as a back-end bullpen option. He will start the season in the Angels closer role.
