The Pirates have signed first baseman/outfielder Corey Hart to a one-year deal.
Hart will receive $2.5 million with incentives which could push the total deal to $5 million.
The Pirates will use Hart as a platoon at fist base while also giving him time in the outfield. He is coming off a down 2014 season that saw him hit a mere .203/.271/.319 with six homers over 68 games.
While Hart may not be the most talked about signing of the offseason he does have the ability to produce and be a nice buy-low candidate.
