The deal sending outfielder Matt Kemp from the Dodgers to the Padres is finally official.
Kemp along with catcher Tim Federowicz and cash considerations will go to the Padres in exchange for catcher Yasmini Grandal and right handed pitchers Joe Wieland and Zach Eflin.

The Padres have made upgrading their offense a focus this offseason and get some major help in the form of Kemp who is an MVP candidate when healthy. Of course there are concerns with Kemp’s hips which held up this trade but the Padres will take the risk on him in this one acquiring $32 million of the $107 mill left on his current contract.
Kemp hit .287/.346/.506 with 25 homers and 89 RBI last season and while the Padres offense still is not up to the level of the Dodgers the 30-year-old should do well to land on his feet next season.
