The Arizona Diamondbacks have added to their rotation with the acquisition of starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson.

A former Rookie of the Year, Hellickson has struggled in recent years to stay healthy but he gets a new lease on his career with a trade. Of concern is that Hellickson is a flyball pitcher heading to Chase Field.

Hellickson, 27, made 13 starts last season posting a 4.52 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP.

In exchange for Hellickson the Rays picked up outfielder Justin Williams and shortstop Andrew Velazquez.

Williams, 19, hit .351/.403/.467 with four homers and 46 RBI in 74 contests between Rookie League Missoula and Class-A South Bend in 2014.

The 20-year-old Velazquez had a solid year at Class-A South Bend hitting .290/.367/.428 while scoring 94 runs and stealing a eye popping 50 bases.

Both Velazquez and Williams are years away from contributing at the big league level but make a nice return for the Rays.
