The Baltimore Orioles and outfielder Nick Markakis have expressed interest in working out a new contract but that will not stop his agent from soliciting other offers.
Markakis and the Orioles were said to be working out a four-year deal but, according to Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun, his agent is not scheduled to meet with several other clubs.
Awarded the gold glove this year the 30-year-old Markakis appeared in 155 games hitting .276/.342/.386 with 14 home runs and 50 RBI. He will get a multiple year deal.
The Orioles declined a $17.5 million option on Markakis for 2015.
