Former Major Leaguer Jose Canseco accidentally shot himself in the hand while cleaning a gun on Tuesday.

TMZ reports that Canseco shot off his middle finger with the following details:
Jose’s fiancée Leila Knight tells TMZ Sports … he was sitting at a table in their home cleaning the gun when it went off. She says he didn’t know it was loaded — and the shot ripped through the middle finger on his left hand.
Canseco is said to have lost any potential use of the finger. He is currently in surgery.
