Adam Dunn homers in debut, A’s defeat Mariners

Newly acquired Adam Dunn immediately began to dividends for the Oakland Athletics hitting a home run in his first at-bat with his new team.

Picked up in exchanged for a minor league relief pitcher on Sunday, Dunn batted cleanup in his debut for the Athletics.

The home run was the 21st of the season for Dunn. He finished Monday’s game 2-of-3 and boasts a .224/.344/.443 line on the season. Dunn said following the trade that he planned to retire at the end of the season. Joining the Athletics gives him a chance to play in his first postseason game.
