Alex Wood continued his strong 2014 season on Sunday night as he racked up 12 strike outs in eight scoreless innings against the Miami Marlins.

Atlanta would defeat Miami 1-0 giving Wood his 10th win of the season to go along with a stunning 2.92 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 142/38 K/BB ratio over 145 innings.

Offensively the Braves got a second inning home run off the bat of Evan Gattis who swung at the first offering from Nathan Eovaldi sending it over the wall. Craig Kimbrel would come in to pitch the ninth for the save.

Wood’s next start is slated to be next Saturday against the Marlins.
