The Los Angeles Angels designated Wade LeBlanc for assignment following his poor outing on Monday.

LeBlanc allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings of work earning his quick exit from the rotation.

With the Angels needing to figure things out by Saturday they could turn to internal options Randy Wolf or Michael Roth. Of course it is worth mentioning that Bartolo Colon has cleared waivers and would also be on his regular rest should the Angels make the move to acquire him.

Reports still suggest that the New York Mets will pick up a portion of Colons $11 million salary for next season.

As for Wolf he has a 4.99 ERA over six starts at Triple-A Salt Lake, while Roth has a 2.62 ERAover 22 Double-A outings.

With LeBlanc gone the Angels purchased the contract of right handed reliever Yoslan Herrera. He previously made six appearances with the Angels this season. His stay could be rather short.
