Out with a strained right flexor tendon Homer Bailey is unsure of when he will return to the Cincinnati Reds.

Bailey has been out of action since Aug. 7 and is unsure of when he will return to the mound.

“I don’t really know a timetable,” Bailey said via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “No one does. It’s just how quickly I can heal, more or less, rehabbing.”

Bailey recently received a platelet-rich plasma injection.

“Would I like to [throw]? Absolutely I would,” he said. “This isn’t really something you can rush back. You can either do it once and do it right or you can try to rush it back and go back to square one. I’ve been through enough injuries.”

Bailey had made 23 starts prior to gong on the disabled list going 9-5 with a 3.71 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.
