The activation of Colorado Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles came as Brett Anderson hit the 15-day disabled list.
Lyles has been out for two months with a fractured metacarpal in his left hand. In 12 starts this season the 23-year-old right hander has a 3.52 ERA to go with a 1.30 WHIP.
Anderson hits the disabled list again this time with a lower back strain. He has a nifty 2.93 ERA and 1.32 WHIP on the season but has only pitched a total of 43 1/3 innings.
The Rockies will send Lyles to the mound on Wednesday night against the Chicago Cubs.
