The Colorado Rockies have had outfielder Carlos Gonzalez in their lineup for 66 of their 111 games this season.

Gonzalez, 28, missed Sunday’s game while dealing with a sprained right ankle. The Rockies will make a decision on whether or not Gonzalez will go on the disabled list on Tuesday.

Rockies manager Walt Weiss believes that Gonzalez will avoid a trip to the disabled list.

On the season Gonzalez is hitting a pedestrian .237/.287/.422 with 10 home runs and 36 RBI.

In last place and 23 games under .500 for the season there is no real incentive for the Rockies to push Gonzalez to be in the lineup. A DL trip may be avoided but Gonzalez should be given ample time to heal.
