Needing roster spots for new arrivals Emilio Bonifacio and James Russell, the Atlanta Braves are expected to designate Jordan Schafer for assignemnt.
After getting off to a surprising hot start, Schafer is batting just .163/.256/.213 on the season. He has started just two games over the past month.

The Braves are also expected to option Chasen Shreve to the minors leaving them with just one left hander in the bullpen.
