The Washington Nationals have joined the Toronto Blue Jays and San Francisco Giants as potential suitors for shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera.

Cabrera, 28, is a free agent at the end of the season so the Cleveland Indians are willing to move him. If Cabrera was to be moved to any of the aforementioned teams it would likely mean a position change to second base for the time being.

On the season he is hitting .246/.305/.386 with nine home runs and 40 RBI in 97 games.

The Indians dealt starting pitcher Justin Masterson to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday but FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal leaves open the option that the Indians could choose to keep Cabrera until after the trade deadline which takes place at 4 pm Thursday.
