“The wrappers are off” said Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter about pitcher Kevin Gausman.

The Orioles will not have a innings limit on the 23-year-old right hander in the second half, something the pitcher is ready for.

“I definitely feel a lot more confident, more confident in myself, more confident in just everything,” Gausman said via the Baltimore Sun. “I feel great about where I’m at physically, and mentally I feel great, too. There’s a lot of things I’ve been through that some guys might take personally, but that’s been something for me, I haven’t thought about it that way at all.

Gausman will start the Orioles third game of the second half on the road in Oakland.

Gauman made seven starts in the second half going 4-2 with a 3.29 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP.
