The Colorado Rockies are interested in re-signing Michael Cuddyer.

Cuddyer, 35, is a favorite of team owner Dick Monfort meaning that while the Rockies are 14 games under .500 on the season the team has no intentions to move the outfielder reports Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Currently sidelined with a broken shoulder, Cuddyer is hoping to begin his rehab prior to the end of July.

It is doubtful that a rental like Cuddyer would draw much in the trade market which may be why the Rockies would prefer to keep him.

Prior to the injury the player who is in his third year with the Rockies was hitting .317/.366/.500 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 31 games.
