Atlanta Braves catcher Evan Gattis is not ready to return to the lineup as he deals with a bulging thoracic disc in his back.
Gattis has been out of the lineup since the end of last monthand it appears he will need additional time away once his 15-day stay on the disabled list is over.
In 63 games before going on the DL Gattis compiled a .290/.342/.558 line with 16 home runs and 39 RBI.
#Braves Fredi G doesn't think Gattis will be ready to come off DL right after All-Star break. No baseball activities yet.

Encarnacion placed on DL
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed first baseman Edwin Encarnation on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad.
Encarnacion suffered the injury trying to beat out a double play on Saturday. The expectation is that he will miss up to a month of action.
The Blue Jays will surely miss his .277/.368/.591 batting line with 26 home runs and 70 RBI in 88 games.
