The Toronto Blue Jays have diagnosed third baseman Edwin Encarnacion with a strained right quadriceps.
Not much more has been provided by the Blue Jays about the 27-year-old first baseman who has been a big part of the teams success this season.
Right now the Blue Jays are going to see how Encarnacion feels in a day or two before deciding whether or not to place him on the disabled list.

On Sunday the Blue Jays started Jose Bautista at first while having Adam Lind play DH. Cole Gillespie made the start in right field.
In 88 games this season Encarnacion is hitting .277/.368/.591 with 26 home runs and 70 RBI. The Blue Jays can ill afford to lose him for an extended period of time.
