New York Mets pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka left Sunday’s start against the San Diego Padres with what has been termed a “severe upset stomach.”
Matsuzaka pitched only one inning on Sunday allowing two walks before leaving. He was replaced by Carlos Torres. The Mets could pitch Matsuzaka on short rest or return him to the pen if necessary.
