New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran threw from 60 feet away on Wednesday. It marked the first time that Beltran had thrown since being diagnosed with bone spurs in his right elbow in May.

Beltran sported a brace on his right elbow during the session.

For now Beltran will continue to serve as the designated hitter of the Yankees.

Beltran, 37, is hitting just .226/.277/.411 with five home runs and 17 RBI this season.
