The Baltimore Orioles pulled pitcher Kevin Gausman from his outing at Triple-A Norfolk after one inning.
Gausman, 23, is expected to take the spot of Chris Tillman in the Orioles rotation for Saturday. Tillman will pitch on Thursday in place of Miguel Gonzalez who underwent an MRI after complaining of soreness in his side.
In 21 major league games Gausman has a 6.10 ERA. Its unlikely that the No. 4 pick from 2012 will suddenly figure it out against the AL West leading Oakland A’s.
