The Miami Marlins have placed catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia on the 7-day concussion disabled list.
Saltalamacchia played on Saturday so his concussion likely occurred then. Signed to a three-year deal worth $21 million in the offseason the 29-year-old has struggled at the plate.
A brutal May has his numbers down to a .237/.335/.404 line with six home runs and 17 RBI on the season.
The Marlins have recalled J.T. Realmuto to take his place on the roster. He should share time with Jeff Mathis while Saltalamacchia is out of action.
