Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton took roughly 100 swings in a batting cage on Wednesday.

The plan is for Hamilton to take on field batting practice on Thursday. Out since early April with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb, Hamilton has now been out of the Angels lineup due to a bone bruise.

While things appear to be going in the right direction neither the Angels nor Hamilton have set a return date.

In 159 games since joining the Angels Hamilton has produced a .259/.318/.446 line with 23 home runs and 85 RBI. Prior to joining the Angles he was a five time All-Star and the 2010 AL MVP.
