San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain has been diagnosed with a low grade strain in his right hamstring.
Cain has a Grade 1 strain, which is the least severe. The Giants have not placed Cain on the disabled list and will not do so unless they feel he will not be able to pitch his next start.
Through eight starts Cain has a 3.66 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP.
Cain has grade 1 strain of hamstring, will get treatment for a couple of days. Hasn't been ruled out for next start yet.

The Baltimore Orioles placed closer Tommy Hunter on the DL with a left groin strain.
Hunter will be out of action for a few weeks. Considering Hunter has a 6.06 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 16 1/3 innings this season the time away may be best for both pitcher and the team.
