The Texas Rangers activated third baseman Adrian Beltre on Friday. In order to make room for Beltre on the active roster his fill-in, Kevin Kouzmanoff, was placed on the disabled list.

Beltre landed on the DL with a strained left quad but he will play Friday night. In eight games this season Beltre has hit .286/.394/.393 with no home runs. Expect that to change as Beltre has hit 28 or more home runs in each of the last four seasons.

Kouzmanoff lands on the DL with a herniated disc in his back. After not being in the majors for two seasons Kouzmanoff had been hitting .362/.412/.617 with two homers and 10 RBI over 13 games for the Rangers. His return is unclear at this time.
