Former major league catcher Chris Snyder has retired from baseball.

Snyder was cut by the Washington Nationals this spring and signed on with the Texas Rangers on a minor league deal. He played in seven games for Triple-A Round Rock this spring but has called it a career.

The 33-year-old Snyder spent parts of 10 years at the major league level and finishes with a .224/.328/.382 line to go with 77 home runs and 298 RBI in 715 career games.
