The New York Mets are unsure if pitcher Bartolo Colon will be able to make his next scheduled start on Saturday.

Colon dealt with back issues in his last start against the Los Angeles Angels as he lasted just five innings allow nine runs on 11 hits in a loss.

A team source for the Mets told the New York Daily News that Colon’s back was a factor to the poor performance and said it was unclear if Colon would make his start on Saturday.

The Mets have an off day on Thursday and could simply push Colon back a day or skip him all together.

Over the winter Colon signed a two-year deal worth $20 million to join the Mets.

In three starts this season Colon is 1-2 witha 6.00 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP.
