Craig Kimbrel plays catch on Tuesday

Atlanta Braves closer Craig Kimbrel played catch on Tuesday after sitting out of Monday’s game in Philadelphia.

Kimbrel believes he will be ready to go if Tuesday’s game is not cancelled by bad weather.

After Monday’s game Braves manager Freddi Gonzalez again spoke that he had no concern about the status of his closer.

“Not worried at all,” Gonzalez said. “I’m talking to Craig and our trainers. I think it’s one of those things that every reliever goes through. [If we hadn’t gone ahead in the ninth], you guys wouldn’t have even known it. So throughout the course of the season, there are guys that are banged up and they’re not the closer. If it’s not a save situation, nobody would even know, so I’m not concerned at all.”

Through six gaes this season Kimbrel holds a 159 ERA and a 0.71 WHIP. He has five saves this season and has led the league in that category in each of the last three seasons.
