On Thursday an MRI confirmed that Miami Marlins pitcher Jacob Turner has a strained right shoulder.
The injury occurred prior to Wednesday’s start against Washington. Turner hurt himself while taking batting practice
Turner’s future going forward is unclear and the Marlins have gone ahead and placed the 22-year-old right hander on the disabled list.

The Marlins were reportedly shopping Turner during spring training. Now any plans to trade him this season are likely gone or will result in little return.
Turner posted a 3-8 record in 2013 with a 3.74 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. In his lone start this season he went six innings allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks.
