The Chicago White Sox will use Matt Lindstrom as their closer to start the 2014 season.

While there was never an official word from the White Sox many assumed that the club was leaning towards Nate Jones as their ninth inning man but instead manager Robin Ventura will roll with the 34-year-old Lindstrom.

For now Jones will start the season as a setup man to Lindstrom but he could move into the closers roll at some point.

Lindstromg had a 3.12 ERA and 46/23 K/BB ratio in 60 2/3 innings last summer for the White Sox.
