San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum is expecting to make his first scheduled start of the regular season on Thursday.

Lincecum expects to pitch in Arizona when the Giants take on the Diamondbacks after x-rays on his knee came back negative.

“I’ve got to listen to them,” Lincecum said of Giants trainers, via the San Francisco Chronicle “but right now I feel I should be fine.”

The two-time Cy Young Award winner is hoping to rebound after going 20-29 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP over the last two seasons.

“He’s doing fairly well,” manager Bruce Bochy said. “I think we’re pretty comfortable he’ll be OK to go. We’ll keep an eye on him.”

Lincecum signed a two-year extension worth $35 million in October.
