The Detroit Tigers and superstar Miguel Cabrera have agreed to terms on a new eight-year contract.
Cabrera, 30, will have the eight-year extension tacked onto his current deal which has two years remaining. This means the Tigers will have Cabrera under contract for the next ten years at a total cost of $292 million.
Miguel Cabrera’s deal will have AAV around $30 million, over at least 6 additional years beyond the 2 he has left on current contract.

Cabrera has won back to back MVP awards the last two seasons. He won the Triple Crown in 2012 and had a better season in 2013 judging by his statistics. Last season Cabrera posted a .348/.442/.636 line with 44 home runs, 137 RBI and 103 runs scored.
