The Cleveland Indians could start the 2014 season without centerfielder Michael Bourn.

Bourn was removed from Sunday’s spring training game after he had tightness in his left hamstring. The injury will keep him out of action for the next week and makes his status for the start of the season in question.

Obviously the Indians would want to be cautious here, as there is no need to press the 31-year-old Bourn into action to start the season, as it would make sense for him to rest up and be fully healthy upon his return.

This is the same hamstring Bourn had surgery on last October.

Last season Bourn appeared in 130 games hitting .263/.316/.360 with six home runs, 50 BRI and 75 runs scored. Bourn was 23-of-35 in stolen bases last season.
