Free agent pitcher Ervin Santana has fired his agent, Bean Stringfellow.
Santana, 31, is frustrated that March has arrived and he is still without a major league contract. The right hander has been reported to be seeking a contract around $50 million, down from the $100 million he sought at the start of free agency.

Teams that have been linked to Santana include the Mariners, Rockies, Rangers, Blue Jays and most recently the Orioles. Santana is tied to draft pick compensation, something that can be avoided if he waits until June to sign. Of course ESPN’s Buster Onley reports there is also some concern about his elbow.
@PBRudisel Please inform of what I just wrote in not a fact. The fact is: Teams are leery of his elbow blowing out, based on medical info.

Santana was hoping to cash in big coming off the best year of his career in which he posted a 3.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 161/51 K/BB ratio over 211 innings for the Kansas City Royals.
