Paul Konerko is celebrating his 38th birthday today and the Chicago White Sox are celebrating it with a cake. Of course they are also celebrating his farewell to the game with the same cake.
Here is what the hard to make out yellow text on the cake says:
“One more year then … He gone!” the cake read. “Senior citizens, although slow & dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose!”
Konerko is a six time All-Star but the White Sox recently said they only envision him getting around 200 at-bats this season. Currently Konerko owns a .281/.356/.491 career line with 434 home runs and 1390 RBI.
