The Los Angles Angels and outfielder Mike Trout are working on a contract extension.

Beginning his third season, Trout is set to receive a six-year extension worth $150 million reports Yahoo Sports‘ Jeff Passan. The deal would buy out two of Trout’s free agency seasons but would allow him to hit the market at 28 which could net him another massive deal.

Twice Trout has finished as the runner up for the American League MVP award. He proved his rookie season was no fluke by hitting  .323/.432/.557 with 27 home runs, 33 stolen bases and an AL-leading 110 walks during the 2013 season.

Earlier this week Trout declined to comment about a possible extension.
