Reds and Homer Bailey near extension

The Cincinnati Reds and pitcher Homer Bailey are nearing an extension. Both sides have come a long way since the Reds considered a deal unlikely.

Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer  reports the the two sides are closing in on a six-year deal worth $100 million.

Bailey, 27, finished last season with a 3.49 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 199/54 K/BB ration in 209 innings of work last season. Bailey tossed his second career no-hitter last season.
