Dylan Bundy could make minor league debut in May, join Orioles in June

MLB: Spring Training-Baltimore Orioles at Boston Red Sox

Dylan Bundy is recovering from Tommy John surgery but has already been throwing from 120 feet.

Bundy, 21, could begin a minor league assignment in May with High-A Fredrick and eventually make his way up to the major leagues shortly after.

“I really like the way his rehab is going,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter told the Baltimore Sun. “I think, looking back on it, it might be the best thing that’s ever happened to him, all things considered.”

Bundy is not sure how he will fit into the Orioles plans this season.

“They’ve hinted around about some things,” he said. “Obviously, I’m going to come back as a starter, so I’ll have to work up to five innings. I don’t know if they’re going to keep me at five or more, I don’t know. I really don’t have a clue.”
