The Chicago Cubs suddenly have become the favorites for the services of Japanese right hander Masahiro Tanaka.
Now Bruce Levine of 670 The Score out of Chicago has passed along news that the Cubs have made an offer to the 25-year-old.
Wake up tweeters! Cubs made Tanaka a real offer to be there ace and grow with their other talented young players.

Multiple teams are known to have interest in Tanaka with the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks joining the Cubs as being most agressive.
Tanaka has until Jan. 24 at 5 pm ET to sign a contract with a major league team. And of course we have to wonder just how Tanaka would look in the new Cubs alternate road uniform.
