The Chicago Cubs are “targeting” free agent Jonathan Sanchez according to Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune.
Sanchez, 31, has been downright awful since the start of the 2012 season but the Cubs could opt to take a flyer on him via a minor league deal.
Since the start of the 2012 season Sanchez is a mere 1-12 with a 8,73 ERA and a 2.15 WHIP. He appeared in five games for the Pirates last season.
