The Houston Astros have signed relief pitcher Matt Albers to a one-year deal.

Albers began his career with the Astros and is coming off a strong season with the Cleveland Indians where he compiled a 3.14 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP in 56 games.

The 30-year-old Albers should begin the season in a set-up role for the Astros. He will make $2.25 million in 2014 while his contract includes an option for $3 million for 2015. The Astros could buy out the final season for $200,000.
