Blue Jays sign Tomo Ohka to minor league deal

Tomo Ohka has not pitched at the major league level since 2009 but the Toronto Blue Jays will give the right hander a chance to prove himself.

Ohka, 37, is attempting a comeback as a knuckleballer. Previously he had some success in the majors but had fallen all the way to the Independent level last season.

One of the things the Blue Jays liked about Ohka was his ability to throw the knuckleball which will give the Blue Jays catchers additional chances of catching them in spring training. The Blue Jays currently have R.A. Dickey in their rotation.

Currently he’s ticketed for Double-A.
