The New York Mets made the decision to non-tender Justin Turner on Monday.
Turner, 28, hit .280/.319/.385 with two home runs and 16 RBI in 214 plate appearances in 2013. He was expected to make around $1 million in arbitration which makes the Mets decision to let him go a bit of a surprise but obviously general manager Sandy Alderson felt he did not warrant bringing back.
There should be no shortage of teams who have interest in bringing in Turner for a bench spot in 2104.
