Josh Johnson signed a one-year deal with the San Diego Padres on Tuesday.
The Padres will pay Johnson $8 million with the right hander having the ability to earn an additional $1.25 million if he makes 26 starts. If he makes fewer than seven starts, the Padres would get a $4 million option for 2015.
Johnson is looking for a nice bounce-back after disappointing 2013 season. He could not have asked for a better landing spot than the cushy confines of Petco.
