Carlos Ruiz will return to the Philadelphia Philles after the veteran backstop and the team agreed to a new three year deal.
Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Ruiz’s three-year deal is worth $26 million deal with an option for the 2017 season.
The Rockies, Red Sox and Blue Jays all showed interest in Ruiz.
Ruiz, 34, hit just .268/.320/.368 with five home runs and 37 RBI in 92 games during 2013. in 2012 he hit .325/.394/.540 in 2012.
