Former pitcher Kip Wells retires

Former major league pitcher Kip Wells has retired from baseball.

Wells, 36, plans to seek out a job in a front office or scouting department.

 

In a career that lasted 12 years, Wells had a 69-103 record to go along with a 4.71 ERA and 1.51 WHIP. He last pitched at the big league level in 2012.

Wells ended the 2013 season at Triple-A with the Los Angeles Angels.
